Jan DeLap: I just want to say that I’m immensely grateful for the union. It’s really called the International Typographic Union. I think it’s one of the first unions established in America. And it continued running for a long time. I learned how to stand up for myself, for what is right. I’ve seen people that have been abused at their jobs. They’re scared of losing their jobs, they are bullied and oppressed. I’ve seen that, but it didn’t happen in the union. The union did abuse some of their privileges like influences from wealth, political reasons etc. I know the union wasn’t perfect. But what I experienced, for myself, I’m thankful for the union.
