The Engraving Room

The large lightboard was used to engrave pages onto metal plates using film negatives.

After pages were completed in the Composing Room, negative copies were created in the Film Output machine in the Engraving Room. These negatives were used to create the metal plates used in the printing machines. These would be sent to the Press Room.
