Video Description
The video begins with a title slide featuring a line drawing of a figure depicting the handshapes and movement for the vocabulary term, Paste-Up. The figure uses both hands in a flat, bent-3 handshape. At mid-torso, with palms orient toward one another, the signer bends the extended pointer and middle fingers while simultaneously moving the hands away from center. Next in a video recording, Brian Brizendine, a white older male, defines the term in American Sign Language. He stands in front of a blue screen in a film studio.

Most people did “paste-up,” the sign was PASTE-UP. Most of this work related to things such as the news, newspaper articles, signed in columns. For ads, we’d show the size, like this. [signs large ads placed around the page]. To show the larger ads. Paste-up was used for all of these things. Some of us worked on full-page paste-up, which meant composing the full page.
