Video Description
The video begins with a title slide featuring a line drawing of a figure depicting the handshapes and movement for the phrase, to replace a slug. At mid-torso, the signer uses both hands. The non-dominant hand in an H handshape remains still. In front of the non-dominant hand, toward the viewer, the dominant hand in a 1 handshape, rotates at the wrist so that the finger is oriented upwards, then horizontal, then upward again in a repeating movement. The movement depicts the removal and replacement of a single lead slug from a block of text. Next in a video recording, Brian Brizendine, a white older male, defines the term in American Sign Language. He stands in front of a blue screen in a film studio.

Now, another sign for that work was slugs, SLUG. The make-up page was printed and a proof was reviewed by proofreaders. Their corrections were delivered and we’d sign SLUG, to mean they’d make the corrections by removing the line of text and replacing it with corrected slug. That was signed like this.
